Basic messages are applicative. Your application can only 
messages of this kind. They are designed to let you do whatever 
you want with them.

Membership messages are administrative. They are generated by 
spread daemons. They allow your application to know the state of 
the network when handled correctly. For example, they notify you 
when a member joins or leaves a group you have joined...
